Tips
1. No vegetarian food at McDonalds. The chicken burger we bought without chicken was "yuck"
2. I got very good exchange rate using my credit card. So, I always tried to use credit card instead of using cash.
3. You can use the site http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/praha/spojeni/?lng=E for searching tram & bus routes
4. The address of Old Town Square is Staroměstské náměstí. This can be handy while searching for routes.
5. Tram No 22 goes just to the foot of hill where Prague Castle is located.
6. There are trams from Palladium to Wenceslas Square
Day 2, Praha Zoo
One of the best zoos I have ever been to. Very near Prague City Centre. The wildest of animals were either in an "open area" or inside a glass cage. You cannot miss giraffe, tiger and zebra. I had seen giraffes the first time. And we could get really close to the tiger as he was inside a glass cage.
Day 3, Prague Castle
We went to the Prague Castle crossing beautiful Charles Brige (also called Karl Most in Czech). En-route we clicked pictures by the bank of river Vltava bank overlooking the Castle. We had a nice lunch at Cafe-22 on the foot of hill leading to Prague Castle. Ashu had potato soup in a bread bowl. Castle was like any other castle but there was a nice Easter Market inside it. It was quite big castle with various sections but we did not go inside.
Tram No 22 goes to just near castle.
Day 4, Aqualand
Day 5, Old Town Square
Old town in Prague is nothing like one in Stockholm, much bigger. The astronomical clock was built in 14xx and is quite beautiful. Sovenior we bought resembles it. There was a huge Easter market in Old Town Square where we spent quite some time. There was a group performing folk songs & dances. I even danced with one of the ladies for a performance. The Tyn church looked equally beautiful. We then headed to Jewish Quarters, there were a lot of upscale showrooms. We saw Old New Synagogue and Jewish Cemetry which is supposed to have atleast 10 layers of graves because there was no space for burial, so they kept burying on top of the previous one. After Jewish Quarter, we once again went to Old Town Square and went to Palladium, mall with 200 shops. Did some shopping from M&S and then headed for "K - The Two Brothers", quite a fancy Indian Restaurant but since we had no reservation, we could not have dinner there. We instead went to a fast food Indian Restaurant, "Bombay Express".
